Capitol Improvement Plan

"South Piedmont’s Capital Improvement Plan assesses the entire community’s needs, whether that means re-imagining existing facilities or creating spaces that don’t yet exist. It also considers the investments needed to promote academic success, our student and staff physical, emotional and mental health as well as campus safety.

To meet these needs, we’ve laid out a number of priorities that we hope to achieve in the next ten years to provide the best possible educational experiences for our students, creates an active and thriving community center, and meets the needs of workforce development and our industry partners."

RIP Petey the Patriot

Press release from South Piedmont Marketing team February 19th, 2025:

"Dear South Piedmont,

Thank you to everyone who participated in our mascot survey. We received more than 300 responses!

Based on the feedback, our direction is clear: Petey the Patriot will be retired, and South Piedmont will be adopting a new mascot. Rest in peace, Petey, we appreciate your service.

The mascot committee is currently analyzing the survey data to determine a shortlist of mascot options. Once the Executive Leadership Team approves the shortlist,  we’ll ask for you to vote on the mascot you think should represent our college moving forward. We expect the second survey to open sometime in early to mid-March.

Thank you all for participating in this history-making project. We don’t know what the new face of South Piedmont will be, but we do know it will be the result of inspiring collaboration between students, employees, and members of our community. Very exciting!"
