Undergraduate & Faculty Research Program

Mission

We want to prepare ALL SPCC students so that each student has a heightened ability to solve problems and seek answers. Our students are the future leaders and contributors to our community, so it remains our mission to promote undergraduate research so that ALL students can participate and better understand the value of research within and beyond the classroom. We seek to encourage and inspire our students as they, in turn, inspire all of us as educators, and share with them the resources to pursue research-based opportunities. All the while, we hope to forge and foster collaborative relationships between students and faculty.

Vision

We at SPCC and the Undergraduate and Faculty Research Program want to be at the forefront of Undergraduate and Faculty Research in the NC Community College System and beyond. This initiative seeks to promote undergraduate research so that ALL students can participate and better understand the value of research, making research and research opportunities an inclusive opportunity that is within reach of any and all SPCC students. Research opportunities should not be limited: we open our doors to students of all levels of learning and encourage our students to ascend beyond any perceived academic, cultural, social, or financial limitations.
