Final Paper

The final paper will need to be researched.  Please use the LibGuide to help you navigate through the databases and books.  The Citation Styles tab may help you with citing your paper. Do not hesitate to contact the library or Academic Support Center for assistance.  We all want you to be a successful student.

Formal Essay

Students will complete 1 Research Essays that reflect/meet the following guidelines:           

1. This essay must be at least 4 FULL  pages but no more than 6 pages in length.         

2. The memo must be written in the one of the following formal formats (APA, MLA, ASA, Chicago) with a title page, 12pt font, and a separate reference page.         

3. The memo needs to include at least 3 formal, properly cited, references.        

4. The essay can be a response to any social problem discussed in the text,    

                presented by me in class, something that you came across in current events, or something relevant of your choosing.

5. Paper must include a social theory analysis.

This paper can be written about any issue that can be connected to sociology and the things we have covered in class. It can be an analysis of a current or historical event, or a theoretical framework and abstract analysis.

***Standards 1-5 are required for all papers submitted to me unless you have consulted with me to agree upon changes***

The purpose of this section is to allow students to practice blending their own critical thoughts and sociologically reflective ideas with those of published experts from varied fields.

This section is worth 50 Points
