Applied Survey Research
Applied Survey Research (ASR) was started in 1980 with a singular goal. We wanted to create a social research organization that would provide reliable insights to help people improve their communities. Since that time, we have provided expertise and insights to help many cities, counties, and organizations measure and advance the quality of life for the people they serve. That includes helping them reduce violence, address social equity, provide services to people without shelter, improve early childhood education, and find solutions for other common challenges.
The SocioWeb
A Guide to Sociology and Sociological Research, the SocioWeb is an independent guide to the sociological resources available on the Internet and is founded in the belief that the Internet can help to unite the sociological community in powerful ways.
The Global Social Change Research Project
This project examines the ways in which societies change over time. Specifically, we have present reports on social, economic and political aspects of society, and trends over time in these characteristics. Through these reports, we intend to present a picture of how society is constructed, and how society changes over time. We use data sets that are available on the web to describe many different aspects of society, such as basic socio-demographics (i.e., population size, growth, age and urban distribution, infant mortality rate, education), technology (i.e., electricity consumption, telephone mainlines), politics (i.e., political rights, freedom, armed conflict) and communication (tv, radio, newspaper, internet). We also present long term changes in economic growth and population, to place more current changes in context.
SocioSite
SocioSite is designed to get access to information and resources which are relevant for sociologists and other social scientists. It has been designed from a global point of view — it gives access to the world wide scene of social sciences. The intention is to provide a comprehensive listing of all sociology resources on the internet. The enormity and constantly changing nature of the internet makes it impossible to develop a definitive and comprehensive listing. That’s why the SocioSite will always be «under construction».

The National Survey of Families and Households (NSFH)
The NSFH was designed to provide a broad range of information on family life to serve as a resource for research across disciplinary perspectives. A considerable amount of life-history information was collected, including: the respondent's family living arrangements in childhood, departures and returns to the parental home, and histories of marriage, cohabitation, education, fertility, and employment. The design permits the detailed description of past and current living arrangements and other characteristics and experiences, as well as the analysis of the consequences of earlier patterns on current states, marital and parenting relationships, kin contact, and economic and psychological well-being. Interviews were conducted in 1987-88, 1992-94, and 2001-2003.
