SOC 213: Family Biography

Family Biography Resources

The Family Biography assignment is a great way to learn about your family's history.

Some places to begin collecting information are:

  • Old family photos- these may spark memories or create a good background for a family story.
  • Family historian-many people are amateur genealogists and they may already have some really good information gathered.
  • Interviews with family members such as grandparents, great aunts, uncles, etc.
  • Local historical societies-many towns have historical societies with local information.  Libraries often have archival records as well and may be able to assist with research.
